The ultimate diving experience with luxurious liveaboard Bianca. A Traditional Bugisnese schooner, experience scuba diving and discover the best dive sites of Indonesia.

Sangihe Talaud the very northern part of Manado an area comprising approximately of 40 islands, some of which are volcanic - over 1500 metres high - and covered in coconut palms. The water surrounding these islands are some of the deepest in the world. The remoteness of the region has helped to preserve the amazing variety of stunning corals and abundant diversity of marine life. The water is crystal clear with visibility on average of 35 to 45 metres and sometime more.

The whole archipelago has breath-taking scenery including volcanoes above and below the water. Vertical cliffs above the waterline plunge to great depths below, whilst other sites are small rocky canyons with swim throughs.

Deep, clean and crystal clear! Dive the underwater volcano venting gas and sulphur near the surface and drift dive the underwater lava flow with an amazing variety of hard and soft corals, including hugh barrel sponges, plate coral and precious "black" coral (used for jewelry making) in every colour imaginable. Steep coral slopes with vertical pinnacles in places and an abundance of hard and soft corrals down to a very great depth. Here you can see huge giant clams, many barrel sponges, yellowfin tuna, silvertip and black tip reef sharks.

A great variety of crinoids stand out so starkly against the black volcanic rock in hue of yellow, purple, green and pink that they appear to light up the underwater scene into a rainbow of colours. There are also many fascinating nudibranches to be seen standing out like rare jewels. Apart from the stunning beauty of the area, the corals and crinoids, the big attraction is the sheer volume of fish, fish and yet more fish! This is a diver paradise to find long nosed hawk fish, dog tooth tuna, yellow fin tuna, blue trigger fish, sweet lips and humphead parrot fish. Also to be seen are turtles, eagle rays, many different type of snapper, moray eels as well as the variety of coral fishes. Large manta glide gracefully around and hugh schools of big-eyed jacks and barracudas are commonly seen.

Shark Action!!!mssbiancaroom.gif (25077 bytes)

For many divers the biggest thrill is the BIG SHARK action! Black tip, white tip, grey reef and the Hammerhead sharks, including the Scalloped Hammerhead can be seen.

Chance to snorkel with pod of HUMP BACK WHALES on some occasions as well as pod of PILOT WHALES averaging 4 to 5 metres in length and not at all shy. In access of over 250 DOLPHINS occasionally can be spotted swirling, jumping around in the incredible clear water. Truly and unforgettable experience.

You will have opportunities to visit the small villages en route inhabited by the friendliest people you could meet in all of Indonesia.

Dive the clear waters, steep walls and world-class coral gardens of Bunaken Marine Park. Visit Bangka Strait for an encounter with whales, manta rays and other pelagics. Explore Lembeh Strait and discover its rare and unusual marine life and WWII shipwrecks. Whether you are a novice or an expert, we have the diving for you.

Sample Itinerary
Day 1 : Transfer Manado airport to the Bianca (30min).

Boarding, introduction while heading to Bunaken for the night dive (2x?). For the night we will anchor in Wori.

Day 2 In the morning (6.00) we will start the engine and leave for the Bunaken Marine Park. The first dive will be at Siladen. After the first dive we will present Bunaken and Manado Tua. Depending on the guests interests we present 3- 5 dives. After the night dive we set sail to Gangga where we will anchor for the night.

Day 3 In the morning we set sail for Bangka where we will present 2 dive spots. Diving around Bangka is beautiful but above all very rough. Tips of pinnacles above and below the surface combined with the strong currents make Bangka to rough underwater scenery. The soft corals are excellent and the variety of fishes is very good. One of the dive sites at the south is the place to be for table corals. Small to few square meters of table coral can be found here. After Bangka we set sail to Puisan and Batu Pandita for the afternoon and the early night dive. During the night the Bianca will bring you to Ruang.

Day 4 Ruang will be our scenery for the morning and afternoon dives. After diving the south side of Ruang where the big species can be spotted, we will present you probably one of the most impressive dive sites of this area for soft and hard corals and the macro environment. There can no square meter be found without any vegetation. Sponges can be found in all sizes and colors while diversity of fishes is enormous. During the afternoon we set sail to Siau. During this trip we will present you a night dive around one of the islands we visit.

Day 5 The next morning we will be in Siau. During the Dutch and Portugese time Siau was an important harbor for the nutmeg trade from Halmahera to Europe. The European influence can still be found in the Dutch harbor and at the streets. A visit to the local market to meet the friendly villagers and the working volcano is one of the possibilities during the stay at this island, while the crew has to bunker fresh food. The diving will be around Mahoro and Siau for today. During the night the Bianca will bring you to Mahengetang.

Day 6 The underwater volcano of Mahengetang is on the program for today. This impressive art of nature is for most of the guests the biggest attraction of this trip. A big plateau of volcanic rocks coming from the depth to a few meters below the surface where you can swim through the bubbles coming from the center of the earth. In the afternoon we present some colorful reefs while diving this impressive area. During the night we set sail to the Lembeh Strait where you will arrive in the morning.

Day 7 Today is the last diving day and we will dive the different dive scenery of the Lembeh Strait. The first morning dive is planned on the northern tip of Lembeh. This dive spot is at the north, east and south direction in direct contact with the Sulawesi Sea and in combination with the wind a spot for the more experienced diver. Batu Kapal is an ideal spot to meet the bigger species, even mantas can be found here. The other morning dives will be spend in the Lembeh Strait as well. Both dives will be an excellent opportunity for the macro photographers to shoot the impressive macro environment of Lembeh. In the afternoon the Bianca will anchor in Bitung and the guests will have the opportunity to visit Bitung and its local market.

Day 8 After your breakfast everybody has to prepare for the return flight to Singapore. Around eleven in the morning taxis will ready to bring you to Manado airport (+/- 45 min.)
