Open to all Rescue Divers with at least 20 logged dives this is the first professional grade. The divemaster perfects his or her scuba skills and diving knowledge to instructor level; learns to control groups of divers and assist instructors during lessons. Certification as a divemaster allows the diver to become a member of PADI and to receive the benefits of membership including the association journal "The Undersea Journal".

Course Outline

There are three modules to the course:

The first module includes a review of rescue and accident management skills; the perfection of general diving skills and competency in the water and a test of stamina involving swimming tests. Module two involves knowledge development in 8 key areas such as diving physiology and the use of the recreational dive planner. Each area is assessed separately and a pass is required for each. During the third module, the student gains experience in carrying out the role of a divemaster under simulated or real conditions.

  • Initial deposit of S$200 plus S$150 for materials.
