A course for the complete beginner which leads to you gaining an internationally recognized certification in scuba diving - PADI OPEN WATER DIVER.

This certification allows you to dive anywhere in the world; to rent or buy scuba equipment and is your first step to a whole series of exciting activities which take place underwater. This fun-packed course involves audio-visual presentations; pool dives and 4 open water dives and is a great way for you to make new friends both below and above the water.

If you are already a PADI Scuba Diver within the last 12 months, check out our PADI Open Water Upgrade course to bring you one step a head.

You can also attend our PADI Open Water Referral course if you have completed the academic and pool training sessions of an PADI Open Water course with your local PADI Dive Centre/Resort, and wish to complete the open water certification dives with Big Bubble Centre in the tropical, warm, blue waters of Pulau Dayang, Pulau Tioman or Pulau Aur in Malaysia and among the beautiful coral reefs of Manado in North Sulawesi - Indonesia.

Course outline

There are 3 parts

  1. Theory Lessons (Module 1 to 5)
  2. Pool Dives (Module 1 to 5) &
  3. Open Water Dives (1 to 4)

Demonstrate proficiency at swimming by swimming 200 yards (any stroke, no time limit) or 300 metres snorkel swim with mask, snorkel & fins and floating for 10 minutes. Your knowledge development will be monitored throughout the course by completing short quizzes. Each practical session develops your skills to reach a required performance level. Each pool dive builds on the skills developed in the previous one. Following this, you will go to one of our open water sites to further develop your skills in the open area of a dive site and to explore the underwater world. You will complete four dives for your certification and at all times you will be under the supervision of the instructor or a divemaster.

  • To allow you greater flexibility we also offer a self study option using an excellent CD-ROM containing live action video to support the text.

Interested in Overseas exotic destination training?

We also offer a referral option where you complete all your Theory and Pool dives at home and then carry out your open water dives abroad whilst on holiday. This can be done in conjunction with any of our courses and costs only S$295.00 plus materials.

Widen your options by using the latest CD-ROM multimedia technology to complete the theory portions of the PADI Open Water course. This software package contains all the information in the course book as well as the complete course video footage; self study questions and much, much more. With this package you can prepare for the quizzes and final exam in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace.

Summary sessions and quizzes can then be completed on a private basis by arrangement. By joining in with a scheduled course for the pool dives and open water dives, you can elect to use this option at no extra cost.
