Open to all Advanced Open Water Divers with a current First Aid certification this course enables divers to increase
their confidence in self rescue skills. to develop techniques for rescuing others and to
learn to manage emergency situations. This grade is a requirement for the prestigious
certification of Master Scuba Diver and a prerequisite
for the Divemaster course.
The course is made up of 5 theory modules each of 2 hours duration and 12 open water
training exercises which can be completed over 2 days - in addition to these we include a
pool dive to allow you to practice some of your skills. The 5 theory modules cover
self-rescue, diving first aid, emergency management, equipment considerations and a final
review followed by a written exam. The open water sessions teach methods to prevent
problems from occurring, methods to deal with problems both on the surface and underwater
and culminate in participating in accident scenarios. Despite the serious nature of this
course it is always enjoyable and fun.
